Kanye West, Gap mocked for Yeezy trash bag collection

Kanye West, who last week said he was inspired by “the homeless,” is reportedly selling his new fashion collection out of garbage bags.

A viral tweet Taken by a shopper showing off West’s Yeezy Gap collection, which haphazardly oozed out of black bags, has sparked a backlash from some fans.

“This is how they sell Yeezy GAP,” the tweet reads. “The seller said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and he wanted it that way. They won’t help you find your size either, you just have to rummage through everything.”

The user later tweeted, “Do you think Kanye is mad at me?”

One commenter wrote, “Balenciaga and Kanye’s fetish of homeless people as ‘fashion muses’ is everything that’s wrong with billionaires…they don’t see people in need anymore, they don’t see people suffering anymore, they see opportunities to be.” “edgy” and take advantage of it… it’s disgusting.” The collection is being developed by Balenciaga.

“Working at Yeezy Gap is going to be hell,” wrote another while showing a clip from a sitcom featuring pushy bargain hunters.

Another shopper who took a photo at another store said the clothes there were folded and staff helped find the sizes, but the clothes appeared to still be in bags.

“Finally something that satisfies my digging instinct,” joked another.

One commenter, who said they saw the same display at a Houston store, wrote, “As a former visuals manager, I can say that I would quit my job if I were still on the visuals team.”

One person who disagreed said: “No wonder you [are] the FORMER manager” because they “can’t see the creative vision”.

West’s collection first premiered in February and hit stores last month.
