JPMorgan to cut nearly 500 tech jobs this week: report

JPMorgan Chase shed about 500 jobs this week, mostly at technology and operations groups. CNBC reported on Friday, citing people with expertise.

The bank did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

According to a government filing, the bank employed 296,877 people as of March 31.

On Thursday, JPMorgan notified 15% of employees at recently acquired First Republic Bank that they would lose their jobs, Bloomberg reported.

Shares rose 1.3%.
