The last few weeks have been challenging for Joy-Anna and many members of the Duggar family as they revisit their past and accept a guilty verdict in Josh’s trial.
The Sun reported that Joy-Anna shows “suffering” in one day of the trial.
After the judge gave the jury, she and her sisters Jessa, Jill and Jinger hire a powerful lawyer represent them in an ongoing lawsuit.
The brothers first sued In Touch Weekly and the local police agency in 2017, two years after the newspaper reported that Josh had accused of sexually abusing five underage girls in a leaked 2006 police report.
In the original lawsuit, the sisters sued In Touch’s parent company, as well as several government agencies and law firms that assisted with the release of allegedly confidential police records.
Jessa and Jill went public to reveal that they were among the alleged victims.
They claim that the report has caused them emotional distress.
New court documents, obtained by The Sun, show that the sisters hired Hilary Potashner to join their legal team.
A source close to the family said The Sun that Josh was convicted of child pornography could influence the outcome of the Duggar sisters’ case.
The insider said: “They have been allowed to continue their case against the police department and a few police officers.
“That was supposed to go to trial the same week as Josh’s trial, but it’s been put back.
“If there is a trial, the damage can be reduced by Josh’s Faith. “
Josh convicted on December 9 after two weeks of testing.
Since the ruling was made, Joy-Anna has kept a somewhat low profile at home.
She recently gave her fans glimpse at her house, showing off her holiday decorations.
Joy-Anna opens the clip with the camera pointed at her son Gideon, three, sitting at a small table.
The camera then pans to daughter Evelyn, who is seen playing with a picture book while Austin sits in front of the family’s Christmas tree.
The tree is decorated with white lights and various decorations.
Joy-Anna captioned the post: “A cozy, rainy December morning.”
She’s in the holiday spirit after a recent date night with Austin.
Joy-Anna documented a trip to the golf course with friends on social media.
