We can get a “Quack, Quack” for Josh Duhamel?
On Monday, January 24, Disney+ announced that the Las Vegas alum will be joining the second season of the sports series “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” as Coach Gavin Cole. According to the character description, Coach Cole is a former NHL star who heads an intense hockey academy that serves as the setting for the new season.
Duhamel will skate to a previous position due to Emilio Estevez, who reprized his iconic “Mighty Ducks” role as Gordon Bombay for season one. Then, back in November, news broke that Estevez would not be returning for a second season.
Initially, it was reported that the ABC Signature factory chose not to renew his contract with Estevez because the actor will not confirm that he will comply with the COVID-19 vaccination policy. Estevez he himself has quashed the accusationsspeak Limit line that he chose not to do season two because of “a contract dispute and no, as some believe, anti-vaccination views.”
He further clarified his stance by adding, “I’m not anti-vaxx. Totally stopped.”
Although Estevez has hung up her skates, “Mighty Ducks” fans have a lot to look forward to Duhamel as the new coach. “Inspiring, captivating, hardcore,” the Disney+ announcement teases. “He’s very critical of the hockey metaphor applied to life.”
Hopefully Coach Cole has what it takes to make this new generation – including Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia and more – fly. We also hope to see him share the screen with Lauren GrahamWho playing hockey exclusively for Alex Morrow’s mother.
2022 is definitely Duhamel’s year, as he is also expected to star opposite Rene Zellweger in NBC’s highly anticipated true-crime series “The Thing About Pam. “Oh, and we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention it his recent engagement to his girlfriend of over two yearsAudra Mari.
On Saturday, January 8, the actor took to Instagram to say, “There it is!! She found a message in a bottle washed up on the beach and said YES!!”
While you wait for more information on season two of “Mighty Ducks,” you can tune in to season one on Disney+ right now.
