Johnny Depp trial: Former agent Tracey Jacobs says Pirates actor showed up too late to do ‘virtually every movie’

Johnny Depp showed up too late to “do practically every movie,” according to his former agent.
Tracey Jacobs claimed that the Pirates of the Caribbean Star developed a reputation for being late to film sets, leading to people in the film industry being “unwilling to use him.”
The acting agent – who has represented stars including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez and British actor Simon Pegg – posed on Thursday, May 19, in Depp’s ongoing libel trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp is suing Heard for $50m (£38.2m). He alleges that Heard implied he abused her in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed about domestic violence.
Heard is filing a $100million (£80.9million) counterclaim accusing Depp of organizing a “defamation campaign” against her and calling his lawsuit a continuation of “abuse and harassment”.
Jacobs made the statement via video deposition on Thursday (March 19).
She was released in 2016 after 30 years working with Depp – during which time she said she helped make him “the biggest star in the world”.
Jacobs testified that she didn’t know why Depp “terminated” her, but added that he “terminated almost everyone in their life, so I was there.”
She said that Depp had become a difficult client over the last few years they worked together, claiming he “would show up late for projects.”
Among the film sets, the actor was allegedly late Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
“Crews don’t love to sit around for hours for the star to show up,” Jacobs told the court. “People talked – and people hesitated to use it.”
Jacobs spoke of having to fly to Australia twice during filming pirates 5 to speak to Depp about his punctuality on set. She claims that part of the actor’s allegedly unprofessional behavior was due to an increased use of alcohol and drugs.

She claimed Depp “romanticized” drug culture and had “underlying issues with anger” that worsened over time.
Jacobs recalled telling Depp to Dr. David Kipper, citing the medic’s previous success in helping high-profile celebrities sober up.
On Wednesday (May 18), Heard’s acting coach, Kirsty Sexton, claimed that Depp was “very concerned” that Heard was working on films with James Franco.
Sexton’s testimony came after footage of Franco visiting Heard at her home was played to the jury the night she filed for a divorce from Depp.
