Joe Lycett – Live updates: Comedian set to crush £10,000 midday after David Beckham’s World Cup ultimatum

Joe Lycett claims he will shred £10,000 if David Beckham doesn’t give up Qatar partnership

Joe Lycett prepares to ‘shred £10,000’ after David Beckham’s ‘radio silence’ over his World Cup ultimatum

Last Sunday (November 13th), the comedian published a video on social media in which he addressed Beckham directly about his advertising deal for the World Cup in Qatar.

In the video, Lycett said he would donate £10,000 to charities supporting gay people in football if Beckham abandons his reported £10m deal in favor of the country’s stance on LGBT+ issues.

If Beckham didn’t do this, Lycett said he would shred the £10,000 (£1,000 for every £1million the former England player allegedly made) and post it on the BendersLikeBeckham website at 12pm this Sunday (November 20). com stream live.

While the Birmingham-born comedian upped the ante last week by sharing an email he sent to Beckham’s publicist and a picture of the shredder he would use, the footballer has yet to appear on Lycetts Responding to or even acknowledging the challenge.

While Lycett is known for his high-profile stunts, from changing his name to Hugo Boss to pretending to be “very right-wing,” this one has proved particularly divisive.

Many people have been begging Lycett not to shred the money as the country has just entered a recession and is facing a livelihood crisis.

However, some have argued that Lycett’s ultimatum to Beckham is only an effective protest if he actually destroys the money.

Should he be forced to continue, Lycett Beckham warned, “not only the money will be shredded, but your status as a gay icon will be shredded”.

“Also, you’re going to force me to commit something that could be a crime,” he said in his original video. “Although I think even then I’ll get off lighter than if I’m caught punching a boy in Doha.”

We’ll update you this morning on Lycett’s situation and whether or not he’s going to destroy the money.
