Jeopardy: Fans stunned by contestant who mistakes Michael Caine for Mick Jagger

A Danger! The contestant has gone viral after mistaking British actor Michael Caine for Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, which stunned fans.

On Monday night’s (June 13) episode of the long-running trivia show, contestant Mazin Omer picked the $400 clue in the Knight After Knight category.

Alongside a photo of Caine, host Mayim Bialik read the note aloud: “To honor his father, this star here was knighted in his birth name, so he’s Sir Maurice Micklewhite.”

To which Omer incorrectly replied, “Who is Mick Jagger?”

Baffled by the mix-up between the two British icons, fans took to Twitter to share their shock.

“The Michael Caine/Mick Jagger reaction will live on as a historic bad response,” one user wrote, while another argued that this “could be the worst Danger answer of all time”.

One viewer described it as a “breathtaking moment”.

Referring to a photo of Caine, someone joked, “A synopsis of Danger tonight: This appears to be a photo of Mick Jagger.”

“One of the candidates up Danger just mistook a photo of Michael Caine for Mick Jagger. I’m not sure which of these two gentlemen would be more offended,” commented another viewer.

Omer eventually finished second behind Eric Ahasic, who continued his six-day winning streak.

The mistaken identity came the same day Jagger, the 78-year-old rocker, tested positive for Covid. The Rolling Stones – who are currently touring Europe celebrating their 60th anniversary – have had to postpone their show in Amsterdam.
