Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer let Forbidden Crush ‘play on TV’

What should they say – they were each other’s lobsters!
Jennifer Aniston reminded fans in a resurfaced clip Thursday that she and her ‘Friends’ co-star David Schwimmer developed a crush while filming the hit ’90s sitcom.
Aniston’s confession, which she first shared with Kelly Ripa and then-co-host Ryan Seacrest on Live with Kelly and Ryan in March, was rebroadcast this week on ABC.
“You and David had a crush on each other for the first few years,” Ripa told Aniston in the re-watched moment.
“Yes, we did,” Aniston confirmed. “We just let it play on TV.”
Seacrest then asked The Morning Show star if it was “weird” kissing swimmers on camera for the first time.
“Well, no. It was actually quite fun,” admitted Aniston.

Aniston and Schwimmer portrayed recurring couple Rachel Green and Ross Geller on the hit NBC sitcom from 1994 to 2004, though the age-old question of whether or not their characters were “on a break” still lingers heated debate in pop culture.
The actors first admitted their mutual interest in each other during the special show Friends: The Reunion Max in May 2021.

“I had a huge crush on Jen in the first season,” Schwimmer revealed during the much-hyped unscripted celebration. “At one point we both got really hard on each other – but it was like two ships going by [in the night] because one of us has always been in a relationship.”
That’s why Schwimmer vowed that he and Aniston “never crossed that line” and only acted on their chemistry on screen.
Aniston confirmed Schwimmer’s confession and even revealed details about their torrid snogging on set — and whether or not her co-stars were privy to the long-simmering secret.

“I remember once saying to David, ‘It’s going to be such a shame when the first time you and I actually kiss is … on national TV!’ In fact, the first time we kissed was at this coffee shop,” Aniston said. “So we transferred all our admiration and love for one another to Ross and Rachel.”
“Friends” can be streamed on Max.
