Jay Leno was released from the Grossman Burn Center 10 days after suffering “severe” burns to his face in a car fire.
“I am pleased with Jay’s progress and am optimistic that he will make a full recovery,” said Dr. Peter Grossman in a statement.
The 72-year-old former late-night host was undergoing surgery for severe burns when flames erupted while he was working on a classic car in his LA garage.
Leno suffered burns to his face, hands and chest during a press conference on Wednesday (November 16), which his plastic surgeon Dr.
Some of the facial wounds “are a little bit deeper and a little bit more worrisome” because they were showing signs of progressing to the third degree, as can happen with burns, explained Dr. Grossman back then.
Leno was finally released from the burn center on Monday (November 21).
“Jay wants everyone to know how grateful he is for the care he has received and is very grateful for all the well wishes,” the Grossman Burn Center said in a statement.
“He’s looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishing everyone a happy holiday.”
Leno is famous for its extensive car collection, said to number around 180 cars and 160 motorcycles.
