Jay Leno has been spotted behind the wheel after suffering gas burn injuries

Jay Leno is back in the driver’s seat less than two weeks after a serious accident that left him badly burned.
The 72-year-old comedian and former “Tonight Show” host was seen driving a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG to his garage in Burbank, California on Tuesday – the same spot where the incident took place on November 13.
Close-ups show the remains of Leno’s severe injuries, with his chin, ear, and hands red and bloody.
“Keep up! Everything is fine – everything is fine,” Leno replied to the videographers, who spotted him and asked how he was doing.
“I’m going to be performing at the Comedy & Magic Club on Sunday,” he added, confirming a 7 p.m. show on Nov. 27 in Hermosa Beach, California that the venue advertised on Instagram Tuesday afternoon.
Leno previously explained that he was working on his 115-year-old car when a fuel leak and simultaneous spark caused an explosion in the 1907 White Steam Car.
He was released from the Grossman Burn Center on Monday, where he smiled with staff for a photo before leaving. Leno had scars on his face and hands visible in the picture.

“Comedian Jay Leno was released from the Grossman Burn Center today,” doctors said in a press release obtained by People on Monday. “After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay is being followed-up at the Grossman Burns Clinic for burns to his face, chest and hands sustained during a fire in his home garage.”

“Jay wants everyone to know how grateful he is for the care he has received and appreciates all the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday,” the statement concluded.

Leno allowed Inside Edition cameras to film him being treated in a hyperbaric chamber. Despite receiving skin grafts and another surgical procedure this week, he reportedly went around cracking jokes with burn center staff.

According to US News & World Report, as of June, Leno had over 180 vehicles in his collection, including exotic cars, hypercars and museum-quality artifacts.

The seventh season of his CNBC show Jay Leno’s Garage, where he tries out all things car, ended last month with guest president Joe Biden.
Doctors expect Leno to make a full recovery.
