Jared Padalecki has revealed he is “on his feet” after a near-fatal car crash.
The 39-year-old actor’s former ‘Supernatural’ co-star Jenson Ackles first revealed Padalecki’s death at a fan event on Saturday.
“He’s lucky to be alive,” said Ackles, 44, drawing a gasp of surprise from the audience. “He’s recovering at home, which … the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now blows my mind because I saw the car.”
Padalecki himself was silent about his accident – until Tuesday evening.
“Hi everyone! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love. I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week.” the “Walker” actor tweeted. “I’m so lucky to have had the best care and to be surrounded by people who love me. So thankful for everyone.”
Padalecki was in the passenger seat of the car, said Ackles, who had his pal’s permission to share the news.
Below his tweet, Padalecki’s fans showed a flood of support and well wishes in response.
“So happy you’re okay!” wrote a fan.
“Take it easy, Jared. Nice to hear you’re doing well.” said another.
Before testifying today, the “Supernatural” star, who played Sam Winchester on the CW show, only briefly apologized for not showing up.
“Hey #SpnFamily! Sorry to miss you in NYC this weekend.” he tweeted on April 21. “Thank you and the #WalkerFamily for all the love and support. I can’t wait to see you all again.”
Padalecki currently plays the main character Cordell Walker in “walker‘, a reimagining of the hit series Walker, Texas Ranger, which also airs on The CW.
