JANET Jackson shed tears in front of a mural of her brothers, The Jackson 5, during a rare visit to her hometown.
During tonight’s boom, one of the music legend’s first authorized documentaries, a sweet moment was captured on camera as she unexpectedly received a special nod to her family. his famous.
The new Lifetime documentary, titled Janet Jackson, begins with the singer visiting her hometown of Gary, Indiana.
When Janet, 55, sat in an SUV with one of the filmmakers, he asked her why she decided to make this documentary after decades of trying to keep it as private as possible.
“It was just the right thing to do,” she said confidently.
“Do you have someone making this unauthorized documentary or you have someone else do something or you have a candy movie- oh wait, I’ve never seen this movie before”
she said as the mural caught her eye.
“Turn the camera around. There’s a mural of my brothers, oh, I love that. ”
The four-story high black and white painting shows her brothers Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and of course, Michael Jackson, as children in their breakout band, The Jackson 5.
Janet then sat back in her seat as emotions surged while she continued to observe the mural.
After thinking about the unexpected moment for a few seconds, she burst into tears.
“That’s so sweet and it’s all upward. With the exception of Mike, he looks very outspoken, always inquisitive,” she said, smiling as she wiped her tears.
