Jack Pitt-Brooke names 2 clubs ‘serious candidates’ to become Tottenham boss had in mind

Athletic journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke said Tottenham Hotspur never had a chance to appoint Thomas Tuchel, who always had either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in mind.

The 49-year-old, who has been described as a “serious candidate” to succeed Antonio Conte, looks like he has made his decision to take over the Bundesliga champions after Julian Nagelsmann is likely to be sacked.

However, it seems that Thomas Tuchel never intended to manage Tottenham Hotspur as he wanted to take the reins of a super team like Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

Tottenham’s leadership goal Tuchel always wanted jobs at Bayern and Real Madrid

The former Chelsea manager might have made for a high-profile appointment as his tactical thinking is undeniably brilliant and his previous success in the Premier League.

Additionally, the German has shown a tendency to get the best out of squads that have been far from perfect, as seen during his tenure at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

While several Tottenham fans were hoping Thomas Tuchel would become their next manager, Jack Pitt-Brooke said he always had his sights set on either the Bayern Munich or Real Madrid job.

“No tactical tom for Tottenham. He always wanted a top job (Real or Bayern) this summer and now it looks like he has one,” he says tweeted.

Tottenham need a project manager

Above all, the ex-Mainz tactician ensures immediate success, because he is excellent at dealing with the pressure that arises in knockout competitions.

While some would argue that Tuchel was tailor-made for Tottenham as they hunger for a piece of silverware, this model fits clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid much better in comparison.

With that in mind, a manager in the shape of Mauricio Pochettino who could patiently build a competitive team would be a far better fit at a club like Spurs in comparison, indicating all is not lost.
