Jack Harlow thinks Lil Nas X is “pioneering” in hip-hop
Jack Harlow want to make sure people respect Lil Nas X Grammy Awards 2022, Lil Nas X and Harlow performed their collaboration Industry Baby. On the red carpet before the awards ceremony, Harlow was interviewed by Laverne Cox for Live from E!: Grammys. During the interview, Harlow credited Lil Nas X for “pioneering paths” in hip-hop.

Lil Nas X and Harlow released the song “Industry Baby” as a single from Lil Nas X’s album in July 2021 Montero. The song peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Harlow spoke for Cox on the red carpet at the 2022 Grammy Awards Live from E!: Grammys about how he admires Lil Nas X.
“There’s been a lot of talk about homosexuality and hip-hop,” Cox said. “Lil Nas X is obviously an openly gay hip-hop artist. All of this obviously doesn’t bother you. What do you have to say to people out there who care about gay people and hip-hop?”
“Wake the fuck up. Damn wrong about you?” Harlow replied. “It is ridiculous.”
He continued: “Yeah, I mean he’s pioneering a way, you know, it’s sad that he has to be pioneering. But I find it amazing. He’s reinventing the game – and it’s fresh, powerful and necessary, so I love it.”

Jack Harlow thinks he ‘owes a lot’ to Lil Nas X
During his interview with Cox, Harlow also shared what it was like working with Lil Nas X on Industry Baby.
“Well, Lil Nas X said you were the perfect person to work with ‘Industry Baby’ because you both had hits and people thought that was the only one, you’d never have a hit again. How much flex is it that ‘Industry Baby’ was such a big hit?” asked Cox Harlow.
“It’s a flex. It’s an amazing addition to my setlist. I’m grateful to him, you know?’ said Harlow. “I’m performing with him tonight. It was a collaboration, but you know I owe him a lot for this moment. I love him for that.”
