Is The Split based on a book?
The popular BBC drama is not based on a book.
Welsh screenwriter and playwright Abi Morgan is the creator and writer behind the series.
Morgan is best known for her work including River, The Hour, Suffragette, Shame, Sex Traffic and The Iron Lady.

Speaking of the final season, Morgan said, “It’s great to be back writing for the Defoe family and delving once again into the complications of their lives and those of their clients.
“In the final series of this bittersweet trilogy, Hannah faces the heartbreak of her own divorce and the struggle to save her family and marriage.
“Siblings clash, past mistakes are exposed and hearts are broken as Noble Hale and Defoe rack up more billable hours in the divorce capital of the world.”
What happens in The Split Season 3?
The Split is set in the fast-paced, intense world of London’s high-end divorce scene.
It’s a multifaceted and witty take on modern marriage and the legacy of divorce.
It follows the lives of the three Defoe sisters Hannah (Nicola Walker), Nina (Annabel Scholey) and Rose (Fiona Button) and their impressive mother Ruth (Deborah Findlay).
Viewers last saw Hannah’s solid marriage to Nathan, played by Stephen Mangan, fall apart due to her affair with her former partner Christie (Barry Atsma).
Christie will be returning in the new series, which is sure to make things worse.
Will Hannah and Nathan be able to forget past mistakes, or is this the end of the road?
The BBC teases a “shocking revelation that dramatically changes the stakes,” adding: “The battle lines are being redrawn, her dream of achieving the ‘good divorce’ is in tatters.”
