You are not alone when considering whether to buy one iPhone 14 vs iPhone 14 Pro. The differences between the Standard and Pro models of Apple’s latest phone this year are pretty subtle, and the possibility of saving a few hundred dollars is enticing. We’ll examine whether you should buy the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro below.
Should I buy the iPhone 14 or 14 Plus?
- iPhone 14: Starts at $799
- iPhone 14 Plus: Starts at $899
The iPhone 14 is basically just an iPhone 13 Pro with some improvements. It uses the same A15 Bionic chip with an additional GPU core (5 in total) and better battery life. It also has the ability to send an emergency SOS via satellite, but you’ll be hard pressed to find much of a difference between it and the 13 Pro in form and functionality otherwise.
The standard iPhone 14 is a good upgrade for those who don’t necessarily want to be on the cutting edge and want to save some money.
Should I buy the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max?
- iPhone 14 Pro: Starting at $999
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: Starts at $1,099
With the iPhone 14 Pro, the notch is finally gone. It has been replaced with the “island” which is the focal point for a new notification and interaction system exclusive to the Pro line. It also features a major camera upgrade compared to the 13 Pro. The main camera is now 48MP (compared to 12MP on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14) and has up to 6x optical zoom.
While the iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t seem all that different from the 13 Pro at first glance, there are some significant upgrades here. If you take a lot of pictures with your phone or are craving longer battery life, it’s worth the extra money to buy this phone.
