The exclusive interview airs during a primetime event on Thursday, December 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, and will stream the following day on Hulu.
“I’ve done thousands of interviews over the past 20 years at ABC. This is the most stressful I’ve ever been through,” Stephanopoulos said.
Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza during a rehearsal on the set of Westerns in New Mexico on October 21. Baldwin was told the pistol was “cold” and had no live ammunition. continued, the investigators said.
Initially, investigators found 500 rounds of ammunition on the set – a mixture of blank bullets, fake bullets and what appeared to be real bullets. They described “some complacency” in the way weapons were handled on the set of “Rust”. It said it was still too early to determine whether the fees would be paid.
A search took place Tuesday after an arms and ammunition supplier for the film told investigators he “might know” where the projectiles directly came from.
Stephanopoulos described the interview as “too raw” and said Baldwin detailed what happened on the day of the deadly shooting. He also talks about Hutchins and her encounter with her family.
“As you can imagine, he was devastated, but he was also very outspoken. He was very close. He answered every question,” said Stephanopoulos.
“I was amazed in so many places over the course of the hour and 20 minutes that we sat down,” he continued.
