“About a year ago, I made a terrible mistake that caused deep and painful trauma to the people I love most in this world,” said Taylor in an email to supporters.

“I had an affair, it was a mistake, and it was the biggest failure of my life.”

Taylor, who has been married to Anne Coolidge since 2004, had a nine-month affair with Joya, the widow of John Georgelas, an American man who joined ISIS in 2013.

Georgelas was killed in Syria in 2017. Joya later moved to Texas, where she married IT executive Craig Bruma.

According to Joya, the two met through the woman’s work as a jihadist veteran helping to reprogram extremists, as reported. Dallas morning news.

Joya told Taylor she found him attractive and the two exchanged phone numbers.

The affair lasted from October 2020 to June 2021, and Joya says she and Taylor are “very close”.

They became close soon after, she said Country Profile. Taylor helped Joya financially, offering to buy her house for $600,000.

Taylor is also said to have helped Joya come up with a business plan for a fitness studio she wanted to open.

The case came to light when the third Republican candidate, Suzanne Harp, revealed the secret according to Joya. The two contacted each other when Joya got tired of seeing Taylor’s campaign billboards.

“All I wanted was for Suzanne Harp to just say, ‘Hey, I know your little scandal with Tania Joya. Do you want to resign before we embarrass you? ”, she said. “But it didn’t happen like that.”

Instead, Harp arranged an interview between one of her supporters and Joya. News of the affair and the details Joya revealed then spread on Sunday, just two days before the primary session.

“He said he wanted me to be his faithful, faithful and eternal mistress,” Joya announced to Breitbart.

She also revealed clear text messages Taylor allegedly sent her, detailing specific sexual acts he wanted Joya to perform.

In the end, Joya claimed she asked Taylor $5,000 to help pay for her credit card. According to Joya, Taylor obliged, but in exchange for deleting additional text messages documenting the incident.

“I need help. I wanted to, just help me because it was the least – the least – he could do,” Joya said. “For him, it was like, ‘Okay, provided you don’t tell anyone.’ … I don’t want to tell anyone anything. “
