TK, nicknamed Terrance Kelly, was waiting for his father’s girlfriend’s son in a car outside his Richmond home when tragedy struck.

Kelly was found in the car with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was hit three times in the head and once in the back, according to reports.

Brandon Young, who had called Kelly for a ride home, spotted the injured man and shouted for help.

According to reports, it took about 15 minutes for the ambulance to arrive.

Court documents said Kelly’s cause of death was multiple bullet wounds to the head and torso.

The prominent soccer star was set to attend the University of Oregon on a full trip just days after his death.

Kelly rose to fame playing football at De La Salle High School, where he was named 2004’s Top Athlete of the Year and was the first team selected for the All-Times team.

Who killed Terrance Kelly?

In 2004, Richmond, California saw nearly 100 homicides, according to US News.

The same week Kelly was killed in 2004, there were several other shootings in the Richmond area.

But Kelly’s murder doesn’t seem to have been entirely random.

Police believe Kelly’s death may have stemmed from an altercation that took place last summer at a basketball tournament.

Kelly and Darren Pratcher are said to have had an exchange during the tournament, with Kelly insulting or disrespecting Pratcher, according to eyewitness accounts.

A year later, a .22-caliber rifle was found near the scene of Kelly’s death with a fingerprint on it that belonged to Pratcher.

He turned himself in on August 17, 2004, five days after the shooting.

Pratcher was 15 years old at the time of the crime. He was tried as an adult despite his age.

The trial began in August 2006 and he was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2007.

According to the report, Pratcher’s attorney attempted to argue that the shooting was a case of mistaken identity. That argument, along with efforts for a new test, have been unsuccessful.

On the day of sentencing, Superior Court Judge Laurel Brady said: “I’m not making this easy. It makes me deeply sad to be here today, but I don’t think it’s appropriate under the circumstances. this.”

He was sentenced to 50 years in prison and is currently serving his sentence at Centinela State Prison in Imperiaal, California.
