Inside the creepy time castle filled with pianos and rotting books that have been abandoned for decades

THIS creepy old mansion is filled with pianos and rotting books, abandoned for decades, and now discovered by an urban explorer.

The photos show the music still on the piano and a blackboard from the last lesson in the derelict 18th-century mansion that was once used as a church and school.

Kyle, Instagram follower @kyle_urbex, explored 450 sites across the UK after starting the hobby in June 2020 on a break from his full-time job at a Leeds warehouse.

Since walking along the abandoned halls of St Margaret’s Maternity Hospital in Leeds on his first trip, he has explored a multitude of buildings and structures, including the Explore the human zoo in a park in Paris during a solo trip in September 2020.

The 25-year-old makes trips three to four times a week, accessing buildings by pre-existing entrances such as smashed doors and windows, and often accompanied by his girlfriend and fellow enthusiasts, Laura.

Having previously passed the old Derby Hippodrome, the history lover turned his attention to the Meetinghouse of the Church of God in Derbyshire.

The building was last recorded as being used as a school in 2001.

He said: “On entering St Margarets I was amazed by how historic the inside of the building is and how it is rotten, rotten and forgotten.

“From there, I started researching more places and most of the time it’s not just going inside the building, but researching the history behind the building, which is absolutely fascinating.

“I would do my research first, I would pick an area that I wanted to go to, and if I only had two or three places in the area, I would research them on Google.

“I would go to Google, and say I was going to Derby, I would type ‘annoying Derby building’ or ‘derelict Derby building’ and see what the results would be.

Kyle has collected a stunning series of photographs showing the remains intact over the decades, with grand antique pianos still on display with musical notes and chairs scattered across the floors.

It comes when another derelict three-story house in the suburbs is discovered after hiding a strange story behind its doors for decades.

The townhouse in Penarth, Wales, has been frozen in time – with the previous owner’s shoes still in the cupboard and the kettle still plugged in.

Smashed by the elements, most of the property’s facade has peeled off after years of neglect.

All the windows are rotting – and some don’t even have glass in them.

And the inside paints a more detailed picture of the previous owners’ past – with all their belongings still inside.
