Regis Philbin, the legend of the small screen who once held the world record for most hours watched on American television, has died at the age of 88. He was a famous actor and an actor, singer, and comedian. in his long career.

As well as his long career, his marriage to his second wife lasted 50 years. They had two children together and were always considered best friends.

A few weeks before Regis Philbin’s death, he and his wife decided to sell their mansion, which she considered to be their favorite residence.

Regis Philbin was born on August 25, 1931 Regis Francis Xavier Philbin. He is an American media personality, actor and singer who has emerged as a talk show and game show host since the 1960s.

He is known for hosting “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee”, which started in 1988, and after Kathie Lee’s departure, it became “Live! With Regis and Kelly” in 2001.

Regis graduated in sociology from the University of Notre Dame in 1953 and served in the United States Navy. After being discharged from the army, Regis began her television career with a number of entry-level jobs in Hollywood.

After some reporting work in radio and television, Regis got her first talk show, “The Regis Philbin Show”, on KGTV-TV which led to an Emmy Award winning show in Los Angeles called “Philbin’s People”.

In 1967, he became nationally known as the curator on “The Joey Bishop Show.” In 1983, he joined Cindy Garvey on “The Morning Show”, changing his name in 1985 after replacing Garvey with Kathie Lee Gifford.

He co-hosted the “Miss America Contest” and became the first host of the American game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”. In 2004, he set a Guinness World Record for the most hours of use of the camera, with a total of 15,188 hours of filming.

After nearly three decades, Regis announced retired from the casual talk show “Live With Regis and Kelly” in 2011. The show was the biggest thrill of his life, but everything always comes to an end.

After the announcement, Regis said he’s been thinking about his next steps but has yet to figure out what drives him crazy. Hosting a talk show is something he’s always wanted in his life, and he’s been doing it for most of his life.

In 1955, Regis married Catherine Faylen, and they were together for 13 years before divorcing. They have two children, a daughter named Amy and a son named Daniel.

After the divorce, he got married Joy’s name is Senese in 1970. Joy and Regis met in 1967 when she worked as his assistant when he was on “The Joey Bishop Show.”

By 1973, they welcomed daughter Joanna, followed by JJ.

The close friends celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2020, making their marriage one of Hollywood’s most enduring.

When asked for the secret to prolonging their marriage, Joy revealed that Regis always has something new ahead of them, and that keeps their lives active and fun.

Regis had four kids. His first daughter Amy is one of those little-known children. She was never seen around her father growing up but is said to have pursued a singing career.

The first son Daniel from his first marriage also went unnoticed. He was born with a spinal cord defect and was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Due to Daniel’s spinal deformity, his leg was amputated, and Daniel spent most of her childhood at the Angel View Crippled Children Foundation in California.

Before passing away at the age of 49 of natural causes on November 7, 2014, Daniel worked for the Department of Defense as a writer and editor. At age 37, he was honored by the Department of Defense for helping respond to the September 11 attacks.

Regis’ third child from a second marriage, Joanna, received a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a Master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Joanna is a prolific author with books like the “Daughters Stepping On Stage,” “Summer Rules” and “Since Last Summer” series.

His last child, Jennifer Joy, followed in his footsteps when she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. She is a talented Hollywood producer and screenwriter best known for her work “The OC”.

Weeks before Regis’ death, he sold his aging Greenwich, Connecticut home, a 13,661 square foot estate, for $4,015 million. Initially, the mansion was for sale on the market for $4,595 million with a loss of 35%.

The property, listed with Joseph Barbieri of Sotheby’s International Realty, has a swimming pool, tennis court and a guesthouse. Regis decided to sell so he and his wife could spend more time with their family in California.

The mansion, which Joy calls their favorite home, was built in 1997 and has six bedrooms and nine full bathrooms. She speak,

“We’ve moved a lot and lived in many homes together, but this house will always be our favorite. We’ve celebrated many birthdays and holidays.”

It also has plenty of space for entertaining, a billiards room, a wine room with a full bar and a cellar and home theater. The residence also includes a gym, sauna, solarium, five-car garage and mahogany-paneled library.

When his family announced his death, they revealed that he died of natural causes. His wife, daughter and four grandchildren survive him at death.

In his family’s statement, they revealed that Regis has let people into his life and is able to turn small everyday annoyances and happiness into a story.

His family disclosure that Regis can always turn every day into something worth talking about. He was laid to rest at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame. The university decided to include the Philbin Studio Theater in the Regis honor in their performing arts center.
