The Simpsons have done it again.
Simpsons producer Al Jean pointed out Wednesday that the hit FOX show once again “predicted the future.”
Following Trump’s much-anticipated announcement that he would run for president in 2024, the producer said tweeted a clip from a 2015 episode featuring Homer Simpson and a presidential campaign sign that reads “Trump 2024.”
The clip is from the episode “Bart to the Future,” in which the audience watches President Lisa Simpson speak about Trump’s presidency, NME reported.
“As you know, we inherited quite a budget cut from President Trump,” President Simpson said in the clip Jean shared on Twitter.
“@TheSimpsons As predicted in 2015,” the producer tweeted.
Trump made his campaign announcement after several months of speculation about whether or not he would run for the presidency for a third time.
“To make America great and glorious again, tonight I announce my candidacy for President of the United States,” Trump said. “America’s golden age is imminent.”
This isn’t the first time The Simpsons has allegedly predicted the future.
According to the show, they predicted the death of Britain’s monarch, Queen Elizabeth, as well as the resignation of embattled British Prime Minister Liz Truss.
In 2019, the show also reportedly predicted the riot in the Capitol as well as Ted Cruz’s ill-timed trip to Cancun while Texans suffered from the severe cold.
