We’ve compiled a list of young pictures of legendary politician and presenter Jerry Springer amid confirmed reports of his death.

The legendary talk show host and former mayor of Cincinnati has passed away at the age of 79, it was announced Thursday, April 27.

His family confirmed Springer died “peacefully” earlier this year at home in Chicago, Illinois, after a short illness.

Springer hosted his legendary tabloid talk show The Jerry Springer Show from 1991 to 2018. The show aired for 27 seasons and had almost 5,000 episodes.

Springer was born Gerald “Jerry” Norman Springerwas on February 13, 1944 in Highgate, north London.

He was born in East Finchley to parents Margot and Richard Springer. They were German Jewish refugees fleeing Prussia, a region now known as Gorzów Wielkopolski in Poland.

The Springer family moved to the United States in January 1949 when Springer turned five and they settled in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of New York.

Explored his television career

Before beginning his legendary television career, Springer studied political science and served as mayor of Cincinnati from 1977-1978.

Springer began his broadcasting career as a reporter on a local television station and landed a role as a presenter before starting The Jerry Springer Show in 1991.

From 2007 to 2008 he was a host on America’s Got Talent and hosted the liberal talk show Springer on the Radio on a local radio station in Cincinnati.

In 2015 he started the Jerry Springer Podcast and was known for his stabbing on the courtroom show Judge Jerry from 2019 to 2022.
