‘Impossible’: Sky expert responds to rumors Arsenal could sign ‘very, very good’ player

Brad Friedel has warned Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal that keeping both David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale happy will be “impossible”.
Arsenal will sign Brentford’s best goalkeeper this summer and Friedel described David Raya as “very, very good”.
But considering Friedel, who played 450 Premier League games, found himself in exactly this situation at Liverpool many, many years ago, he doesn’t think it will end well, as he told The Transfer Show Sky Sports (8/7/23 at 7:45 p.m.).
It was then that the American joined Liverpool in 1997 and began competing for first place with former England goalkeeper David James.
It didn’t go well because he spoke about how James, with whom he is now on good terms, “didn’t treat me well”.
There is no doubt that when Arsenal announce Raya’s capture it will be another statement for the rest of the league, but Friedel has his doubts.

“It’s a shame for wealth because both Raya and Ramsdale are very good,” Friedel said. “I work for a data analytics company that only caters to goalies and Raya’s scores have been very high. They were actually taller than Ramsdale’s.
“But Raya is good. Raya is very, very good. They bring another number one with them. It is very difficult. Actually it is impossible. I won’t say it’s very difficult, you just can’t keep two number one goalkeepers happy.
“When does Raya get his chance? You think: “Will he pass me?” It doesn’t matter what the head coach says, you have two excellent goalkeepers. One of them will be angry all the time.”

Raya vs. Ramsdale
It looks like Ramsdale will keep the gloves for now, but he now knows he can’t go wrong.
This can end one of two ways: either he gets replaced within a few weeks or he takes his game to such a high level that Raya stays on the bench.
Either way, it’s probably a win-win for Mikel Arteta as he now has to work with and draw on quality goalkeepers.
