‘I’m happy to lose if it helps Ukraine’ – Tuchel prepares for feeling against Chelsea ahead of Wembley vs Liverpool final

THOMAS TUCHEL will be ‘delighted’ to lose Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final if it ends Russia’s war with Ukraine.
Chelsea boss admits it will be difficult to enjoy Wembley performance – even if his team beat Liverpool.
Owner of The Blues, Roman Abramovich sensationally relinquished control of the club in a shocking statement on Saturday night.
But Tuchel was prepared for a wave of resistanceChelsea felt after Labor MP Chris Bryant called for the Russian billionaire to be banned from owning the club.
More than 190 civilians have been killed since Vladimir Putin’s forces invaded Ukraine three days ago.
And before the big game this afternoon, Tuchel stated: “Since it is so refreshing, it is possible that the game comes with a bad conscience.
“Are we allowed to fully participate and celebrate fully? Is this appropriate?
“This is how I feel. Now what will help if we lose a football game?
“It won’t help. If it helps, I’m happy to lose the game.
“Suddenly we have a war in Europe. This is a horrible situation.”
However, he refused to use any of the backlash against the Blues to motivate the players.
He added: “You can build this mentality, to protect your team.
“But, in this case, the problem is too big for us to turn the tide.
“We are emotionally involved – we suffer with everyone.”
