I’m a professional car booter – I made £1,000 in ONE morning after selling motorcycle boots and a DVD player. Here’s how you can do that

As much as we love a good old-fashioned flea market, there’s no denying that you’ll have to dig through some absolute tatty to find a diamond.

Unless you’re Dave Keefe.

The professional auto-booter found a way to make a living reselling unwanted goods on Amazon and eBay.

in one YouTube video Dave, posted to his channel last summer, explained how he took home £1000 worth of produce after visiting two local flea markets one morning.

He explained: “Today was an exceptionally good day at the office.

“I spent a total of £180 today and bought 42 items.”

And let’s just say we’ll never be without an old Xbox or board game again.

Having been a professional reseller for many years, Dave knows roughly how much to list a product online – so it’s worth doing your research before you do.

On these trips, the expert has taken six old consoles – including an original Wii and several Xbox.

And to up the price, Dave recommends adding some extra games that you can easily buy at a charity store.

He explained: “Something that has fallen in value a lot since the lockdown was lifted is the Wii console bundles.

“If at all possible I like to bundle it with a Wii Fit board because it tends to fetch a higher price.

“During lockdown you were expecting a list value of around £150 for this bundle with a Wii Fit board – now you’re probably looking for around £70.”

Additionally, Dave says it’s always worth buying well maintained board games as they can easily be had for a tenner online.

And as a biker himself, Dave couldn’t resist the woman’s two-piece leather jacket and trousers, which he’s convinced are selling for £70.

Meanwhile, he also listed a women’s full-length black leather coat for £100 and said he would put ‘Matrix’ in the title in case it appealed to a shopper putting together a fancy costume.

What Dave bought and how much he resold it for:

  • Motorbike boots – £30
  • Sony DVD player, £35
  • Wii Bundle – £70
  • Xbox Bundle – £60
  • Board games – £10 each
  • Xbox One – up to £200
  • Car security device – £20
  • XBox 360 wireless controller – £15
  • Bird Watcher Binoculars – £12 each
  • PlayStation 2 – £45
  • Sony Dock – £20
  • Goodman’s VHS player – £25
  • Xbox 360, bundle with games and controllers – £60
  • Folding sun lounger – £50
  • Sandee Gloves – £20
  • Zenit Film Camera – £20
  • Samsung DVD burner – £12
  • iPod nano – £25
  • MP4 player – £25
  • Kindle – £25
  • Turntable – £30
  • Telephone with single handset and answering machine – £15
  • Computer mouse – £20
  • French Language Course DVD – £12
  • Sudocrem Tubs – 3 pack for £18, 2 pack for £12
  • Lumix Camera – £10
  • Nikon binoculars – £50-£80
  • Twinset landline – £18
  • Ladies leather coat – £100
  • Ladies leather motorcycle jacket and trousers – £70

Other foolproof items Dave recommended to take with you were binoculars – as those can be sold for £12 without a brand.

But if you’re lucky like Dave, a high-end pair like the Nikon ones he bought can also be worth up to £80.

In general, he says, it’s worth packing cheap old electronics – like iPods and landline phones – as they can cost anywhere from £10 to £20.

One viewer replied: “What an impressive haul. I love that feeling when you drive home knowing you did well!”

Another added: “Did my first trunk ride today and I feel like it’s definitely a matter of learning and perfecting the craft of haggling. Thanks for the advice, great video!”
