Most people would not consider fast food to be the healthiest option in meals.

And a registered dietitian has revealed which iconic brands she believes are the worst of them all.

Advise Amy Goodson told Eat this, not that that Burger King beat out other main street competitors to become the unhealthy fast food chain.

Goodson said she rates fast food menus for their calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium, and how easy it is to choose a more “healthy” option from their menu.

And after reviewing Burger King’s menu, Goodson says its most popular dishes are higher in calories than close competitor McDonald’s.

“Most Burger King dishes seem to be high in calories, some exceeding 1,000 calories,” she told Eat This, Not That.

“And, not to mention, an average burger or chicken sandwich contains more than 2000 milligrams of sodium.”

She explains that Burger King’s famous Whopper has 120 calories more than McDonald’s Big Mac, despite being similar in sodium.

She said the food chain’s worst chicken sandwich option is their new signature Ch’King sandwich, bread alone has 1,245 calories.

Goodson says that Ch’King is even worse than a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich, which has 700 calories, 42 grams of fat, and 1,473 milligrams of sodium.

Aside from their sandwiches, the nutritionist says some Burger King side dishes aren’t good for you either.

“Both [Burger King and McDonald’s] offers lots of fried food, lots of calories, and unfortunately no baked goods on the menu! “

Despite their deep-fried options, Goodson told The Sun she believes you can still make smart nutritional choices at any fast food restaurant.

If you find yourself having to order at one of these locations, she shared with The Sun some ways to make your meal choices better.

Worst burgers at top chains

Dietitian Amy Goodson reviewed fast food from some of the top chains, including:

Burger King Ch’King Sandwich – 1,245 cal, 42 g fat, 4,576 mg sodium

Burger King Whopper – 669 cal, 39 g fat, 1,168 mg sodium

McDonald’s Big Mac – 550 cal, 30 g fat, 1010 mg sodium

McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich – 470 cal, 20 g fat, 1100 mg sodium

Wendy’s Big Bacon Classic – 650 cal, 41 g fat, 1230 mg sodium

Wendy’s Classic Chicken Bread – 490 cal, 21 g fat, 1450 mg sodium

Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich – 700 cal, 42 g fat, 1,443 mg sodium

She suggests ordering a burger without bread, using ketchup or mustard instead of the fancy cream sauce, sprinkling double the lettuce, adding tomatoes, or choosing water instead of gravy. sugary drink.

Goodson even suggests ordering from the kids’ menu to get a smaller portion.

The Sun has reached out to Burger King for further comment.

As for BK chicken nuggets, Burger King customers are not satisfied with the chain’s new change.

A 10-course meal will now have only eight nuggets in an attempt to “offset some of the inflation.”
