He went to the question and answer site Quora to share her tips with readers.

He uploaded a photo of the plane’s seating plan, yes three rows of seats in each aisle, each row has three seats in.

The two aisle seats in the middle are circled to indicate that those are the seats he and his wife booked while on the plane.

The reserved places have a place in between them.

He said: “Yes, I purposely booked the seat next to each other. Why?

“Middle column middle seat was one of the last to be sold on the flight.

“So unless the flight is full, chances are there won’t be anyone sitting between us and we’ll be sharing three seats between the two of us.”

He continued and said that if someone else came along, they would offer them one of the aisle seats.

He said: “The normal reaction to this is to look at us for a moment as if we were crazy, and then very quickly agree.

“Looks like they’re getting nervous, we’ll suddenly realize that we’re trading aisle chair for a middle seat.

“Whoever we were sitting next to was immediately in a much better mood than when they got on the plane – that’s always a good thing on a long flight.”
