House cleaning is a must if you want to feel relaxed and clear-headed.
But even the best of us sometimes forget that some spots are covered in dirt.
TikTok’s cleaning expert @ Carolina.McCauley revealed three areas that are often overlooked in our cleanup — and she explains why it’s important for us to address.
The first thing she tackles is the inside of her sewer.
Carolina removed the manhole cover and pulled it open, revealing the soot-covered interior.
“This can get very frustrating if left unattended,” she says.
The cleaning specialist applied dishwashing powder and dish soap all over the surface.
She uses a scrub brush to rub it all in and then rinses it off with water. It lit up for a few seconds.
Next, Carolina looked at the hood filters above the stove.
“Deep clean every two weeks to remove dirt and grime,” she says, meaning every two weeks.
She placed the filters in a sink full of water and tossed a few dishwasher detergent tabs inside.
After letting them sit for a few minutes, she pats them dry.
Her final piece of advice is to take care of your washing machine filter.
She removed the tube filled with dirty water inside and poured it out before cleaning the dust on the filter.
“Do this at least once a month,” she advises.
Viewers love tips and are ready to tackle these areas on their own:
One person wrote: “That washing machine tip is a genius, thank you.
“Ughhhh… the water coming out of the washing machine always surprises me because it smells so bad,” added another.
However, a third said what more lazier homeowners than us are thinking: “Thank you for this information. I wouldn’t do any of this at all. “
