I’m a celebrity: Richard Madeley jokes about Matt Hancock’s scorpion sting on Good Morning Britain

Richard Madeley made a few jokes about Matt Hancock’s scorpion sting i am a celebrity in tonight’s (Monday, November 14) episode of Good morning Britain.

The West Suffolk MP and former Health Secretary has been recording bushtucker trials in the jungle since arriving last week.

However, on the Sunday evening (13 November) episode of the popular ITV programme, Hancock suffered a stab wound to his hand while fetching logs with his housemates.

“Ouch, shit! That really hurts!” he yelled. “I don’t have a splinter. Ouch, that really hurts… it’s like something bit me. Oh yeah! Wow, look at that, a scorpion. I was stung by a scorpion.”

While medical professionals confirmed Hancock was “absolutely fine,” he shared that the sting felt like “a bee sting twice over.”

In the Monday (November 14) issue. Good morning BritainHer show host Madeley referenced the much-discussed moment.

As Madeley summarized the events from the episode, she suggested that the scorpion, and not Hancock, deserved medical care as well.

“The Scorpio is expected to make a full recovery,” he quipped to co-host Susanna Reid, before later adding, “The Scorpio is getting an agent now.”

Madeley isn’t the only one who saw the humorous side of Hancock’s encounter with the insect. at the time of injury, i am a celebrity Candidate Boy George commented through suppressed giggles: “Of all people who could be stung by a scorpion. I mean, I don’t laugh…”

The Culture Club singer was one of the more resilient stars to welcome Hancock to camp. After explaining his mum was in hospital during the Covid lockdown, Boy George shared his conflicted feelings about welcoming Hancock to the herd.

“I tweeted the Greenwich hospital and said, ‘Please take care of my mother.’ I used my name, I said, ‘Please take care of my mother.’ And they did, she was fine … I feel like I don’t want to sit here like I’m having fun with him,” he told Scarlette Douglas.
