I’m A Celebrity: David Ginola Confused When The Public Thinks He’s Funny

David Ginola was dumbfounded to learn that the public thought he was funny on Saturday’s episode of I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!.
The former soccer star, 54, is known more for his skills on the pitch – and now a reality TV star – than for his humour.
However, when looking at the latest episode, viewers find his stoic personality quite amusing.
David, along with his I’m A Celeb campmates, learned about the public’s perception of them when they played Sword in the Stone Challenge.
The game sees David, along with Simon Gregson, Frankie Bridge and Danny Miller, have to guess how the public has ranked them as to who is the funniest, cleanest, most stylish and naughty. Best.
When trying to decide who was the funniest, the celebs didn’t put David in the rankings at first – but it turned out he was voted the third funniest.
David, completely confused, asked: ‘Am I funny?!’
‘Maybe the way I say it can be funny, maybe misunderstood?’ a surprised David asked on the Telegraph.
In what could really be a bit of sly digging – in total friendliness, of course – Frankie commented that it’s ‘funny’ how the public’s perception of people compares to their perception of each other.
In fact, David told Danny: ‘You don’t make me laugh’, but added ‘you’re funny’.
The Sword In The Stone challenge drew a lot of laughs from the contestants, such as when former campmate Adam Woodyatt was voted the cleanest member of the castle.
Astonished Danny told the Telegraph: ‘You want to smell Adam Woodyatt, he smells like shin pads!’
Frankie echoed the sentiment, saying: ‘They can’t smell what we can smell.’
Of course, with Adam and his campmate Matty Lee there voted by the public on Friday double eliminated, these insults are just salt to heal the wound.
Who needs enemies, right?
I Am A Celebrity airs at 9 p.m. daily on ITV.
