I’m A Celeb star Hollie Arnold says Ant and Dec jokes ‘made worse’ online abuse during the 2020 series.

Paralympic athlete Hollie Arnold has claimed that Ant and Dec are joking at her I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! made the online abuse against them “worse”.

The gold medal-winning javelin thrower became the first disabled contestant to appear on the show in 2020 when the series was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales.

After Arnold used her MBE title when introducing herself to her roommates, her words were parodied by hosts Ant and Dec, with Ant referring to herself as “Ant McPartlin, MBE.”

Speak with The sunArnold said she was “shamed” of her title and pressured her to remove it from her social media profile.

“I’ve been verbally abused so many times and read all this horrible nonsense online,” she said. “People thought I was on top of myself, but I’m literally the most chilled and chilled person ever.

“Ant and Dec made it worse and played on it, I got so much hate from people who didn’t know me.”

When asked if she received an apology from the presenters, Arnold said, “No, I didn’t. You know you’re on the show “Fair Game,” but it would have been better if they said, “She didn’t mean it like that.”

“Unfortunately, going on these shows exposes you and online trolls are very hurtful.”

The Independent has reached out to ITV for comment.

Arnold, who won gold for Britain in the javelin throw at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, became the first contestant to be eliminated from the reality show in 2020.

The show was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales for two years due to the pandemic but has returned to the Australian jungle for the new series this month.
