Illinois father dies in freak accident while fundraising for daughter’s Boy Scout troop

An Illinois father tragically died five days after helping his 12-year-old daughter collect food donations for her Boy Scout troop.
Aaron LaMore, 45, was riding in the car’s open tailgate when he fell backwards out of the car on Nov. 6, hitting his head on the pavement, according to Patch.
“They didn’t even get to the first house when he lost his footing,” Ryan Talaga, LaMore’s brother-in-law, told the outlet.
It was reported that the car was only going about five miles per hour when LaMore lost footing.
LaMore, an Army veteran, was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois for evaluation, according to the family’s GoFundMe page.
According to Patch, LaMore suffered multiple fractures and swellings around his skull and was bleeding from the brain.

LaMore went into cardiac arrest for several minutes before being rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital.
Due to the “severe injuries” he was given life support and died on Veterans Day. LaMore is survived by his 16-year-old wife, Erin, and their daughter, Mia.
A GoFundMe page was created to help cover expenses, medical expenses and Mia’s schooling.
As of Saturday morning, the site has raised over $36,000.
