‘If he goes to Liverpool’: Micah Richards claims title for ‘disciplined’ midfielder

Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards said Jurgen Klopp’s would present Liverpool with a real challenge for the Premier League title this season if they could sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The former Manchester City defender said so Sky Sports Football (1:10 p.m. 13 August 2023) that Liverpool could win the Premier League title if they manage to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion

Richards has outlined what makes the 21-year-old Ecuador international defensive midfielder such a good player.

The mirror has reported that Liverpool agreed a £111m deal with Brighton for Caicedo this week but he only wants to join Chelsea this summer.

The Guardian have claimed Chelsea are now planning to pay £115million for the youngster and bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Richards said: “He’s a quality player and what he can add in this midfield is he’s easy to play, he’s disciplined and it’s at such a young age.”

“I think if he goes to Liverpool, Liverpool will face a real challenge.”

Liverpool must plan without Moises Caicedo

In our opinion, Liverpool should plan without Moises Caicedo this season.

It doesn’t look like the midfielder will travel to Anfield this summer.

Finally, Caicedo is said to have directly informed Liverpool that he wanted to join Chelsea.

There are speculation Liverpool are still interested in the Brighton star but we believe the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winner should just move on and sign someone else instead.

What’s more, Liverpool shouldn’t be paying £115m for a 21-year-old midfielder who has only played a handful of Premier League games.

Caicedo has made 45 Premier League appearances in his career so far.

The youngster has scored two goals and provided two assists in those games.
