Idaho college student Kaylee Goncalves called a mystery man before the murder

According to the sister of one of the victims, two of the four University of Idaho students who were killed called a mystery man 10 times shortly before they were killed.

Kaylee Goncalves made the calls around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 13, her sister Alivea told Inside Edition on Friday.

“Kaylee is calling [the man] six times between 2:26 a.m. and 2:44 a.m.…. then Kaylee calls him one last time at 2:52,” Alivea said.

Roommate Madison Mogen called the same mystery man three times, from 2:44 to 2:52, Alivea said.

The Post redacted the man’s name, as given to the outlet, as he had not been named a suspect by law enforcement.

Goncalves, 21; Like, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Kernodle’s boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, were found dead at their home in Moscow, Idaho.

Police believe the “isolated, targeted” killings took place around 3 or 4am on Sunday and the coroner revealed the victims were “likely asleep” when they were killed.

Almost a week after the murder, no signs of forced entry were found at the home and no arrests had been made and no suspects publicly identified.

Two other housemates were at the home at the murders but were not considered suspects, according to police.

The murders came after the roommates enjoyed a night on the town when Ethan and Xana attended a frat party and Kaylee and Maddie partied at a club before visiting a food truck before arriving home at 1:45 p.m., said the police.

Kernodle’s father blasted authorities in an interview with The Independent Friday for concealing the investigation, claiming the FBI “didn’t say anything” about his “worst nightmare.”

“How can you protect a child? You keep her at home and you won’t let him go to college? They won’t stay at home like this,” Jeffery Kernodle reportedly said.

The grieving father told the outlet that due to the nature of her injuries, his daughter tried to fight back her attack.

“Well, it’s really stunning. It’s just completely unthinkable and it’s the worst nightmare.”

Authorities were alerted to the killings about eight hours after the killings by a 911 caller. The police had not released the identity of the tipster.
