If you dream of a home with a real musical history, this is a property erotic potion.

A seven-bedroom townhouse in Mayfair, London, landed on the market for £18.5 million.

It’s pretty impressive in itself – the property is pretty epic anyway – but the main draw is the house that’s on the street where a number of famous musicians have previously lived.

Royal composer George Frideric Handel – who wrote the Messiah and the music for King George II’s coronation – lived at 25, Brook Street, wrote some of his most important works of that time.

Then guitar icon Jimi Hendrix lived at number 23, for a year since 1968.

Hendrix decorated the apartment, bought soft furnishings from nearby John Lewis department store and is said to have described the property, belonging to girlfriend Kathy Etchingson, as his first real home.

Meanwhile, at number 67, brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb – better known as the Bee Gees, have composed some of their biggest hits.

Currently, the home for sale is listed as Grade II and measures approximately 5,640 square meters spread across six floors.

Step into the upper ground floor and you’ll find a large dining and living room with views of the expansive garden.

Go down one floor and there’s the kitchen, den, dressing room, and family room, as well as three cellars.

On the first floor there is a bedroom and bathroom with double sinks, then on the second floor there are two more bedrooms and a bathroom.

The third floor has again two bedrooms and a bathroom, then two more on the fourth floor.

The interior is quite fancy with herringbone parquet floors and elegant plaster ceilings.

Partner and head of London residential sales at Carter Jonas, Tim Macpherson, describes the property as ‘extremely special’.

“It’s not only on a street with a remarkable musical history, but it also has the longest private garden I’ve seen in Mayfair,” he said.

‘It has a distinctive outside space and is perfect for entertaining. Brook Street is a stunning home for buyers looking to stay in a prime London location – Claridge’s is also just steps away. ‘
