One woman revealed that she and her friend were locked in Aldi after the store closed – and it’s as hilarious as it sounds.
Sarah said she dropped into Aldi for some milk and bread with her boyfriend’s brother, Luke, and the last thing she expected was to be locked up.
She shared a video of the couple locked up in the Aldi after closing, and commenters found it hilarious.
In the clip, she is clearly shocked and laughing about the experience.
She said: “We went to the checkout, there was no one at the counter.
“Aldi closed the door and locked us in. Luke, we’re stuck in Aldi. Who do we call? ”
In a follow-up video, she described exactly how it all played out.
“We parked in the parking lot, it looked perfectly fine, there were workers standing there, it looked like someone was being served, we took a basket and went in.
Going down the aisles and furniture, obviously thinking it must be closed, there was hardly anyone in there.
“And we get to the last aisle and we can just hear this beep and it drives us crazy but we don’t really admit it. We didn’t question that.”
At first, the couple didn’t realize that the annoying beep was the store’s alarm. Coins only drop when they come in time.
“We got there and I said, ‘Where is everyone?’ I said no. We can’t be like that. We cannot be locked in. ‘
“My boyfriend’s brother dialed 111, I was on Facetime with a friend of mine. 111 indicates just finding an exit in the event of a fire.
“So I’m crying like Gemma Collins, get that exit, I’m out. We just closed the door and got in the car like nothing happened.”
The store manager phoned Luke the next day to apologize and give him some flowers and cans of Fosters.
The video has since racked up over a million views, and commenters suggested that Sarah make the most of the experience and help herself achieve some of Aldi’s best.
One commenter joked: “Dude, I’m so drunk and full of food.”
Another said: “Mid aisle, there will be a bed and blanket and maybe a hot tub too – have fun!”
