CRIMEWATCH host Michelle Ackerley has sensationally revealed how she was “draped in flames” during a petrol bomb attack.
Since joining the likes of The One Show, Loose Women and Crimewatch, the star’s popularity has only skyrocketed – and it’s easy to see why.
The 37-year-old recently revealed her career to date and even revealed how she was once bombed with a petrol bomb by police.
She told Metro: “A few years ago I was sent to learn what riot police do. It was a live show and I was kitted out in riot police gear and holding a sign.
“Police officers acted as rioters with petrol bombs and bricks and it just so happened they knocked over a petrol bomb and it hit my shield.”
But the worst was yet to come, after Michelle was then set on fire trying to get her lines in front of the camera.
She continued: “I couldn’t hear anything and I was coughing and stuttering so much I could barely speak!
“I was very concerned but the program editor called me afterwards and said it was fantastic and a real insight into what the police are dealing with.”
After learning the nitty-gritty of life as a live news reporter, Michelle revealed she now has ambitions to sit on a certain famous sofa.
“I would love to present a live magazine show like This Morning,” she concluded.
“It would be an opportunity to convey my personality. I would like to do it with my mother.
“We have just wrapped up filming on a new BBC series, Dirty Rotten Scammers. We’ve done things together for The One Show before and we get along so well.”
