MUMs are raving about a new 69p tea from Aldi that they say gives them the best night’s sleep ever.

The Diplomat Sleep Tea is part of a new line of Aldi products with other options that work to boost your immune system, aid digestion and even help you detox.

Tea is available online only 69p for 20 bags and shoppers can also buy it in stores from the coffee and tea aisle.

Shoppers have said it transformed their night and it tasted great, too.

Posted in Aldi UK Shoppers Group on Facebook Lindsay wrote: “Best night’s sleep I’ve had in years after this sleep tea.”

Catia even claims it’s better than a tablet. She said: “I have been taking sleeping pills since 2 days ago and honestly it works better than sleeping pills.

“[It] works for my anxiety levels too, so I have a drink here and later in the day… .and the taste is lovely too!! “

And Rria added: “I tried it last night and slept really well. It may have been four sleepless nights but I’m saying it’s tea.”

Everyone who has tried the tea says it’s delicious, but not everyone agrees on the benefits of sleep.

Sue said: “So last night I thought it would be a miracle cure for my tossing nights! Not sure if I’m against it trying to prove it wrong or something. But I had the worst night ever!

“Soooo tired this morning. But I’ll give it the benefit of doubt and stick with it! I’ll become a walking zombie next weekend or I’ll eat full beans! Time will tell! Beyond Come on, it tastes lovely!”

And Nicole agreed: “I’ve been through these 2 nights in a row and had the worst nights of sleep!!”

Chamomile-flavored teas are often said to have calming properties.

The full list of ingredients includes: Flower Top (30%), Chamomile (20%), Licorice Root (20%), Lavender, Lemon Blossom, Tulsi Leaves and Valerian Root.

Aldi warns that anyone with high blood pressure should avoid tea because it contains licorice.

As for the instructions, it advises users to pour freshly boiled water over the tea bag and let it sit for 3 minutes or until the desired consistency is reached.

But Charlotte warns that you need a few bags a night to get the benefits. She said: “I see you need 2 cups of this.. keep the bag. One cup is fine but the second cup is…”

At 69p for 20 Aldi tea bags is by far the cheapest we could find in online supermarkets.

By Asda cheapest option is from Twinings and costs £1.35, almost double the price of Aldi. At Morrisons, it costs £2 for 20 bags.

Tesco also sells the same Twinings branded version costs £2.70 for 20 bags, although you can get it for £2 if you have a club pass.

There are over 900 Aldi in the UK and you can find your nearest using store locator.

I work in food manufacturing and this is why Aldi’s own branded products always taste better than the more expensive versions
