They try love again.

A Texas woman who split from her cheating husband after he admitted having an affair with a work colleague has taken him back – and she vows it was the “best decision of her life”.

Alice Lacy, 29, began dating Dominique Lacy, 33, in 2014 – four years later the happy couple tied the knot.

They merged with their families and lived lives of domestic bliss in the Lone Star State with six children.

But early last year, Alice began to suspect her bar manager was having an affair.

“I knew something was wrong when he happened to say one night that staying with just one woman was difficult for a man and that women would never understand,” the estranged wife recalled in an interview with on Wednesday NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“I knew he was hiding an affair,” she continued. “He kept wiping it off and saying everything was fine and he loves me and our family. We made love later that week and I cried myself to sleep that night. Even though he denied anything was going on, it was like my body, mind and soul could sense the truth.”

In October 2022, Alice finally confronted Dominique and he confessed to an affair with a colleague.

Amazingly, Dominique described the mistress as his “soul mate” and said he fell in love with her.

“After he said she was his soul mate, I asked if he would choose her over our children and he replied, ‘Yes, I love her.’ That’s when my heart pulled out of the conversation,” Alice said.

The mother was devastated and said she wanted to “cry and lie in bed” all day.

The stray spouse moved out of the marital home to pursue a relationship with his co-worker – but two days later he texted Alice telling her he’d made a terrible mistake.

“I was so confused and had to think things through,” Alice said of her estranged husband’s shocking text message. “But then he showed up at the front door of our house.

“He showed me the message to the other woman how he ended their affair, got on his knees and cried – he said that doing this to our marriage was the biggest regret of his life.”

Despite her doubts, Alice decided to give her husband another chance – despite protests from her family.

“They thought I was crazy for taking him back because they hated the whole situation,” she explained.

“I had so many concerns about them [Dominique and the mistress] “We still work together,” she explained. “I was afraid that he was lying and they would continue the affair, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to resist it.

“But he keeps reassuring me and even offered to read all his lyrics for me,” Alice added. “I feel like our relationship is more open now and we can be more honest with each other.”

Dominique no longer works at the bar where he met his lover and is grateful to Alice for giving him a second chance.

Like her, he believes their relationship is better now than ever.

“I made a terrible and terrible mistake that nearly cost me my marriage and my family,” he said.

“In my weakest moment my wife showed me strength, in my most embarrassing moment my wife showed me compassion, when I fell she helped me get up,” Dominique explained.

“The love, care and peace she brought me motivated me to be better because I let her down, something I will never allow again — she gave me everything.”
