I suspected my husband of cheating, so I put a tracking device in his car… but people accused me of going too far

IF people suspect their partner is cheating, they may go to great lengths to catch them.
But how far is considered too far?
Well, a woman Reddit created a conversation after posting her recent antics.
share your story She anonymously revealed that she had placed a tracking device in her husband’s car.
However, some have accused her of going too far.
The woman explained that she first became suspicious of her spouse when he started coming home much later than usual, even leaving the house in the middle of the night.

At first she confronted him, but got no answers – which prompted her to buy an Apple AirTag, a tracking device that connects to the Find My app on an iPhone.
It’s mainly used to help you track down your keys or wallet when you can’t find them.
She wrote: “My husband and I have been together for 6 years and married for two years. We don’t have kids yet, but we tried.
“He works for a construction company while I work from home as a wellness brand owner and vlogger.

“In the last few months he has stayed at work much longer than usual. At first I didn’t suspect any wrongdoing and just dismissed it. He’s worked nights before, just never that often.
“However, last week I woke up at 2am and he wasn’t in bed. I fell asleep again and asked him about it in the morning and he explained that he went for a run. At 2am? Strange but I wiped it off.
“Then he did it again a few nights later, except this time I heard his car pull up in the driveway. When he came back into our bedroom I pretended to sleep.
“The next morning while he was at work, I bought an Apple AirTag to track his whereabouts.
“When he got home from work, late I might add, I put the AirTag in the glove compartment of his car. I stayed up all night expecting him to sneak out again and lo and behold;
“I followed his car and saw it pull up to an abandoned property that was a full 45 minute drive away.

The woman explained that she spoke to her husband when he got home.
While she demanded to know what he was up to, she claims her husband was even more “angry” that she invaded his privacy.
She continued, “I confronted him about it and he got absolutely furious. I asked him why he was going there and he said he was ‘going about his business’ and I should ‘mind mine’ and ‘respect his privacy’.
“He packed a bag and has been staying with his brother for the last few nights.”
Many people rushed to the comments section on the Reddit post to share their opinions on whether or not they support it.

“If you’ve gotten to the point of putting a tracking device on your spouse’s car, it’s time to either go to marriage counseling or a divorce lawyer.”
While another added: “If he disappears at odd times you should be told where he’s been.
“However, stalking someone is also a damn behavior, you’re both so bad at this scenario.”
A third added: “He sucks for his lack of honesty, sounds like some kind of shady deal to me.
“You suck for putting a tracker on him, that’s disgusting behavior too.”

According to Apple’s website, the device is “designed to prevent unwanted tracking.”
If someone else’s AirTag gets into your belongings, your iPhone will send you a notification to let you know it’s traveling with you.

And if you can’t find the device, it starts playing a sound to help you find it.
However, this feature only activates when an AirTag is separated from its owner, meaning you don’t have to worry if you’re traveling with a friend who has an AirTag.
