She posted a TikTok videos to explain her whereabouts to other students, as she explains that the alternative has saved her money now that she doesn’t have to attend live lectures every day.

Instead of living on campus, Tigerlily lives at home in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

However, her studies took place at the University of Northampton, less than an hour away by train.

But because she just needs actually visit the physical campus At least some days of the week she pays the hotel for the one night she stays there.

Most of the students have forced to learn virtual since the pandemic happened, so some people who visit Uni buildings will come once in the blue moon.

But Tigerlily encourages it, saying in the video: “This is your sign to come together and live in Travelodge in the days you need it.”

It has racked up more than 10,000 views as others rethink their own living circumstances.

She explains that she only travels up to two days a week, so instead of paying for student accommodation, she stays in a Travelodge.

She revealed to MoneySuperMarket that the private accommodation she will choose is around £620 a month for a large en suite.

But Travelodge has become her favorite company and offers close to the same amenities, charging just £35 a night.

“I spend an average of £140 a month on a double room at Travelodge,” she tells comparisons site.

In addition, there is another £30 that Tigerlilly has to spend on travel expenses, as she has to work from home to school during the week.

So in total she will be spending £260 a month on her travel and accommodation, which is a £360 jump over the privilege of being shared with other students and jostling over who is who. have to do the dishes that night.

In total, it saved her a whopping £4,300 a year in rent she should have paid for her dormitories.

MoneySupermarket found that other students could benefit from the savings hack as well, as it said students in London would maximize savings by packing their bags and moving out of the dorms and into one hotel discount to replace.
