I made my pregnant wife sleep in a separate room

A man has revealed that he made his pregnant wife sleep in a separate bedroom because her tossing and turning disrupted his sleep and he was sick of “having to put up with it”.

The man said his mother-in-law told him about his behaviour, but he still insisted that his sleep was too important to be sacrificed.

He explained his reasons at length in one Posts on Reddit and opinions are completely divided.

His wife is suffering from nausea during pregnancy and as a result her sleep is also affected.

The man said: “My wife is 5 months pregnant. Pregnancy was difficult for both of us.

“She suffered from gravidarum depression and it was extremely stressful for her. As a result, she can’t work part-time and I have to take most of the rest, I work full-time from 8am to 7pm.

“For the past two months, my wife has had trouble sleeping, which has been aggravated by insomnia. There are many cases of tossing and turning and having to get up every few minutes to go to the bathroom.”

This not only makes it difficult for his wife, but also affects his ability to sleep.

“It completely destroyed my sleep,” he explains. I don’t want to sound like a hole but I have to wake up early to work and since I’m a sensitive sleeper I usually wake up easily to all the sudden movements. ”

In the end, it became too much for the husband to handle.

He said: “I tried with it for a month until I decided that I couldn’t deal with it anymore. I only get 5 hours of sleep and being in the tech industry, it’s hard to function with limited sleep.”

The man said that when he explained this to his wife, she fully understood and started sleeping in another bedroom.

However, when the wife’s parents came to visit, things took a turn for the worse.

He said: “When her parents visited us, she casually joked about her sleeping in another room.

“My MIL didn’t take this lightly and pulled me aside as to why I did this, I explained my defense and she said it was the least I could do to help her. It’s just that I can actively help her with her sleep problem??? ”

The man admitted that he had argued with his wife about cleaning their own bedroom in front of her parents, but insisted they made up.

Many argue that the man was rudely awakened when he brought the baby.

“I can understand that it takes sleep to do your best work. But man, you’re in for a hell of a time when the baby arrives,” one said.

Another concurred: “I wonder what your baby will be like here, if you can’t sleep with your wife’s insomnia how would you deal with a crying baby?”

Some say he should change his bedroom if he is someone who wants to sleep alone.

“If someone is supposed to move, what should you do next when the baby cries all night, you will also move them elsewhere,” one person commented.

A second agreed: “Your pregnant wife should stay in the master bedroom, which is more familiar/comfortable I suppose, with its own bathroom, especially with the vomiting.”

However, some see no problem.

“Your wife seems fine with it and that’s all that matters,” one person commented.
