A horrified customer claims he caught a fast-food delivery driver “mocking his chips” on his ring doorbell.
Peckish Nayf Storer, 36, ordered a late night snack for his family home in Anstey, Leicester, from a local restaurant on Monday.
But their long-awaited dinner was ruined after the father spotted the delivery man eating some of their food.
He had ordered three chicken wraps, a grilled chicken burger, four fries and four cans of pop for his family to feast on.
Nayf took off briefly when he received a doorbell alert on his phone, telling him the courier had arrived at his home.
But he watched in horror as the footage showed the delivery man reading the meal receipt before seemingly bending over and shamelessly shoveling something into his mouth.
The 36-year-old then quickly telephoned his unsuspecting wife to say some of their meal appeared to have been gobbled up by the courier.
Nayf tells Leicestershire Live: “My wife hadn’t seen what happened so I spoke on my phone to try to warn her.
“I could see him putting the food on the doorstep, but he blatantly put our food in his mouth and I immediately called it out.
“With what’s happening in the world in terms of Covid, you just have to be careful with all of this, especially because of my kids.”
The father contacted the restaurant to complain about the rampant delivery man, who apologized for his employee’s actions.
But they also suggested he could have just taken the order form from his own pocket and grabbed a biscuit to eat.
Nayf continued: “They said it was a new driver they hired but that still doesn’t make up for why he did that.
“I just find it absolutely disgusting that I think every food delivery order should be sealed just because of stuff like that.
“Not in a paper bag where groceries are so accessible,” he added.
“We didn’t touch it in the end, but if every driver did that it would be rude.”
The restaurant sent the disgruntled father a new order, though the family lost their appetites after the outrageous stunt.
The restaurant’s owner, who asked not to be named, claimed the driver was under contract and not an employee, and apologized for his brazen snacking.
He said: “I just want the customer to be happy, so we’re willing to do whatever it takes to improve this situation.”
We have previously told how a Family was furious when they spotted a ‘sloppy’ driver chewing on EIGHT of her Pizza Express dumplings on their journey.
Stuart Knight ordered it Pizza Express Food he wants to share with his girlfriend and her three children, but says it arrived half eaten by the courier.
The 46-year-old claims he noticed the seal on the dough ball boxes appeared to be broken before opening them to find eight of the 16 were missing – and the garlic butter side was half empty.
