DRAGONS’ star Den Steven Bartlett applied to appear on the show ten years ago but was never heard back.
But now this businessman is one of the five dragons above BBC show after joining the cast earlier this year.
But little do fans know that the star managed to appear on the show when he was a teenager.
“I never received a response, but someone found it in my diary when it was uploaded online and I was announced as a Ten-Year-Old Dragon a week after I applied. So it felt like a really crazy experience.”
He added: “I don’t know if you guys believe in expression, but I actually sent a message to all of my team and said, I want to do Dragons’ Den and then 60 days since I received an email from the BBC. invite me to meet. “
Steven was the youngest Dragon ever to join the council and became an instant hit with viewers.
The Botswana-born businessman replaced Tej Lalvani in the show’s 19th season.
Mancunian runs several companies and has also published a book; Happy Sexy Millionaire: Unexpected truths about fulfillment, love and success,.
Steven dropped out of university to run the Social Media and Networking Chain he founded at the age of 22 – and is now valued at £300m.
Five years later, he went public, and in 2021 he announced two new companies, Thirdweb and Flight Story.
Bartlett has made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list and has won numerous awards at the Black British Business Awards.
