I almost got sick of discovering SLUDGE was like a dead rat in Asda beans

An ASDA customer was horrified after opening a can of beans and discovering what she claimed “looked like a dead rat” inside.
Sally Jones said she felt nauseous after opening a can of Asda’s private label baked beans from her local store in Bexleyheath, South East London on Saturday.
The 29-year-old account manager said she bought beans last month and was making lunch for her son Reign when she discovered the disgusting thing.
The image shows the opened tin filled with brown residue and mold with barely a recognizable pea in sight.
The mother-of-three also took a photo showing the base of the tin with a January 2023 expiry date.
“I bought these beans just before Christmas, but when I opened them on Saturday I could tell something was wrong right away,” Sally said.
“As soon as I opened it, it smelled like something from outside the grave.
“This is terrible. Like a dead rat in that tin.
Sharing the picture on Facebook, Sally said: “I will be sick 10,000,000 times. I just opened a can of beans to try Reign for lunch and this was inside.
“It was in stock, just bought recently. What the hell.
“My stomach now, that’s what. I don’t feed my kids anything made out of tins or bought from the Asda brand anymore.”
She said she had contacted the supermarket by phone and by email but had yet to receive a response to Asda saying the customer had not had a formal complaint.
The dozens of outraged viewers who left comments after the post were equally appalled.
Stevie Ferdinando said: “I will never shop in Asda again. Anyway, I hate the bar, it just keeps getting worse. Email them with this image. ”
Jennifer Bensaidane simply said: “F***. I find it hard to look at pictures and very rarely do I swear but it’s disgusting. “
Another user, Samantha Greenwood, said: ‘It looks like a grenade about to hatch. Why do these things always happen to you? ”
Dee Reynolds said: “Where is the vomiting response? It looks like a scene from a scary sci-fi movie.”
“I spoke to Asda both by email and by phone, but they were not helpful at all.”
An Asda spokesperson said: “We set ourselves very high standards and in rare cases, damaged tin can lead to a build-up of mold.
“We have not received any complaints about our beans, so we would recommend that any customer who is not satisfied with the product bring it back to the store or speak to the customer service team. our store so we can see what happened.”
