This mansion on Mulholland Drive is now off the market.

One of Los Angeles’ most revered mid-century real estate properties, known as the Garcia House, has found a new owner after being listed for the first time in 20 years.

The property, which made a cameo appearance in the 1989 buddy cop sequel “Lethal Weapon 2,” was built in 1962 by the late tall Lautner and stands on 60-foot stilts

Though photos show the interior remains a retro time capsule, longtime owners William Damaschke and John McIlwee (a Broadway producer and a Hollywood executive respectively) spent more than $1 million in renovations and restorations there over the course of their two decades invested .

The 2,600-square-foot home also features stained glass windows, a lava rock entryway, an original terrazzo floor, and its iconic parabolic roof with a 30-foot curved ceiling and 55-foot-tall window walls, some with stained glass.

Preserving the uniquely shaped, elevated home as a historical time capsule is so important to the couple that it was taken into account when deciding who they decided to sell it to.

“We decided to pass on other offerings because we wanted someone who shared our common goal of preservation and integrity,” McIlwee told the Journal via email. “As for the price, we think it was absolutely appropriate for the house and validates architecture as an art.”

He and Damaschke bought the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property from actor Vincent Gallo for $1.2 million.

The listing was co-authored by Weston Littlefield, Aaron Kirman and Dalton Gomez of AKG | held Christies International Real Estate.
