Adam Sandler has set a career record with his brand new Netflix film.
The actor, who has a $350million (£199million) deal with the streaming service, appears in Hurrya sports drama in which he plays a basketball scout.
Sandler’s previous films for Netflix, including The ridiculous 6, Sandy Wexler and thrillerwere all torn apart by critics.
Hurryhowever, has seen Sandler garner some of the best reviews of his career to date.
On Rotten Tomatoes, a review website, the film has an 89 percent critic rating, ranking third behind The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) and Unpolished gems.
But exciting for Sandler, Hurry is currently its fans’ favorite feature film; It is the highest-rated film of his entire career based on viewership.
Hurry has 94 percent followed by Lucky Gilmore (85 percent) and rule over me81 percent – excluding Sandler’s stand-up shows or documentary appearances.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)directed by Noah Baumbach, has an audience rating of 72 percent while that of the Safdie brothers Unpolished gems is 52 percent.
Hurry is now available to stream on Netflix.
Another new movie with the title recently released on Netflix interceptorhas become the service’s most-watched film – despite viewers calling it one of the “worst” of all time.
Meanwhile, over on Prime Video, a film by Andrew Garfield, branded ‘grotesque’ after it called for festival strikes, has finally become available to watch.
