The BEST comet of 2021 is headed our way and it will appear just in time for Christmas stargazing.
Astronomers have high hopes that Comet Leonard will be the most beautiful comet of the year and you can spot it without binoculars.
How to see the Christmas Comet Leonard
The comet will be closest to Earth and super bright on December 12.
If you want to start looking for it earlier, it’s best to watch about 90 minutes before sunrise and above the horizon in early December.
Several astronomers have photographed it through telescopes.
If you’re in North America, tick your calendar for December 14th as that will be the best time to spot Leonard’s Comet on the early evening horizon.
Unfortunately for UK stargazers, it can be harder to spot around the time of the closest approach.
This is due to its low position on the southeast horizon before dusk.
UK viewers look better on the mornings around 4am GMT before December 10.
By December 14, stargazers in North America and the Southern Hemisphere can begin searching for the comet above the horizon after sunset.
On December 17, they will be the chance for some stargazers to spot it just below Venus in the evening sky.
Some lucky spectators will even be able to see the comet on Christmas Day in the Southwest horizon after sunset.
Comet Leonard has its private Twitter account, which can update you with its current movements.
The shooting star has traveled 35,000 years from deep space to reach us.
Next month will be one of your only opportunities to see it up close.
It is possible that the comet could disintegrate into nothingness before it comes closest to the Sun on January 3, 2022.
That’s why you might want to start looking for it sooner rather than later, even if it means getting a pair of binoculars.
You will also need to look at a time when the sky is clear and where there is very little light pollution.
After Comet Leonard visits the Sun, it will return to deep space.
Is Comet Leonard a ‘Doomsday Comet’?
A biblical scholar has previously claimed to have deciphered the bible revealing the impending Comet Leonard foretells the Apocalypse – as it will arrive around Christmas time.
David S. Heeren, who has spent 16 years researching ‘holy passages’, claims to have found 200 clues that suggest that the times leading up to Christ’s return and ending times will be marked by supernatural phenomena. time.
Heeren’s investigation, outlined by him in his book Great Signs, began after reading Isaiah’s passage, which describes great visions given to the prophet.
During his research, he recorded many images of comets that appeared before major events.
