How to put Pokemon to sleep in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Although it’s quite difficult to find sleeping Pokémon in the wild, it’s undoubtedly one of the easiest ways to catch Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Arceus. Here’s how players can make Pokemon fall asleep in Pokemon Legends Arceus for easy catching.

Pokemon Legends Arceus introduced a number of new mechanics to the tried and true Pokemon formula. One of those things is the specific Pokemon behavior in the open world environment.

One of the rare behaviors that Pokémon can exhibit in the overworld is sleeping. While a Pokémon is asleep, its catch rate is drastically increased and Trainers can easily sneak up on them.

Unfortunately, it will take players a little trial and error to get certain Pokemon to fall asleep. But here’s how it’s done.

When you sneak up on unsuspecting Pokémon, catching them becomes a breeze.

Unlike other behaviors that Pokemon exhibit in Pokemon Legends Arceus, falling asleep is completely random.

Fortunately, there is a way that trainers can easily manipulate this pattern of behavior. Use these steps for the best chance of finding sleeping Pokemon:

  1. Travel to the region where the Pokemon you want to find is located.
  2. In every camp rest in the tentpreferably ‘Until noon’.
  3. Travel to the location of the respective Pokémon until nightfall in the game.

You’ll want some in-game time to pass while you’re looking for sleeping Pokemon, as that way they have a higher chance of sleeping in their spawn area.

In fact, the hardest part of this task is finding Pokémon while they’re sleeping. Catching Pokemon while they’re sleeping is a lot easier as long as you know what to do.

The gauge above a Pokemon shows players the difficulty of catching them. A sleeping Pokemon’s indicator is light green with arrows above it.

Once you’re crouched, slowly sneak behind the sleeping Pokemon with a Pokeball.

There are a variety of different types of Pokeballs, but you’ll find the most success using the Heavy Ball variant.

Once you’ve selected a heavy ball on the item wheel, ZR snap onto the sleeping Pokemon and slowly sneak behind it.

Players should be careful not to get too close as this could wake up the Pokémon. Instead, sneak up just enough to get them within range of the Heavy Ball throw and release ZR.
